Louise Rose Couture, if you’ve not met her before, is a gloriously talented designer of dresses which make your heart sing.
I’m not even getting married, but have one of her latest collection on order – it’s a confection of embroidered tulle delight and it calls to me on a very deep level.
So I was ridiculously excited to be invited to do a first look for her new studio and boutique – a short shoot to give a sneak peek into what she’s up to, and I shall go back for a full day of photographic and fabric excitement when she’s fully set up. Squeee!
She’s set up a boutique showroom & consultation/fitting space in a room downstairs, with a gorgeous bay window and the most divine light! My favourite part is the huge vintage style mirror, which she is planning to paint distressed gold, but I have also seen sneak peeks of the paint & the wallpaper & the sofa that are on the way, so that mirror has some competition!
There’s space for her bridal, bridesmaid and occasion dresses, and plenty of samples for clients to look through when designing their dream dress.
Upstairs is her new studio space – with a custom pattern cutting table and a sewing desk under the window, it’s a haven of peace and productivity. She’s built shelves into a wall nook so her sample files and business paperwork is neatly stored (in pretty folders), and it really felt like a place to retreat to and get things done.
I especially liked the ladder frame with images from different shoots & real brides!
Here are some highlights from the shoot – I’ll be spending a full day with her later in the year, so keep your eyes peeled for more droolworthy studio inspiration.
You can find Louise at louiserosecouture.com, she’s based near Reading for bespoke appointments, and she has an Etsy shop for standard sizes. Highly recommended!
